This disc is quite unique in that it is designed to work on both Apple Macintosh and IBM Personal Computer compatible machines. With that said, there are unfortunate instances where certain applications designed for both platforms only work under one operating system. Please keep in mind that we are aware of these so-called "bugs" , and that future discs will be void of such frustration. However, we believe that these discs will add to the quality of Ultra Game Players, and serve as a catalyst for future, more impressive projects.

Please note the following known difficulties for Ultra Game Players Disc 1:
1. You must have Apple QuickTime installed on your computer to view the Preview movies. Apple QuickTime is provided in the Setup folder at startup.
2. The sound capability on the Personal Computer side of the disc is somewhat temperamental. Try resetting the sound slider below the Ultra Game Players logo when viewing a movie without sound.
3. F.A.T.'s song "Ain't Got No Boot" does not play on the Personal Computer side. This is a Macromedia Director restriction that has to do with sound paths. We are aware of the problem, and are working to fix it. We are also aware that most of you out there are PC users, and we're trying our best to accommodate both platforms.
We suggest the following minimum system requirements to those who use our disc:
PC: IBM or 100% compatible; 486DX2/66MHz; 8MB of RAM; 2X CD-ROM drive: SoundBlaster-compatible sound card; Modem recommended (14.4 Kbps minimum)
Macintosh: System 7 or higher; 68040/25Mhz; 8MB of RAM; 2X CD-ROM drive; Modem recommended (14.4 Kbps minimum)
Please keep in mind that some game manufacturers are optimizing for higher system requirements than stated above, therefore certain titles may not be accessible to persons with system requirements similar to those suggested by Imagine Publishing.

The single biggest problem customers encounter with Bungie's games is that they end. Like the letdown after finishing a great book, our customers report that reaching the end of one of our games brings an empty feeling to their hard drives and a craving for more action. Problem solved. Bungie's new product, Marathon Infinity gives Marathon players everything they need to continue playing in the Marathon world indefinitely. This stand-alone product is based on the Marathon 2 world, and consists of three elements crucial to extending the player's enjoyment of Marathon ad infinitum.
First, the saga continues. Marathon Infinity will elaborate the Marathon story, laying bare many of the mysteries raised in the first two games about Durandal, Tycho and the player. Either a single player or a networked group can play through the story and of course the game will also include maps designed specifically for multiplayer network combat. Never-before-used enhancements will free the player from the strict linearity of previous games, and different physics models will be applicable to consecutive levels, making the environment even more unpredictable and demanding.
Second, the tools. Bungies Lab has unleashed the Map Editor that was used to create the Marathon experience. Bungies powerful and easy-to-use Map Editor will revolutionize the already active creation and distribution of maps online by Marathon players. The Editor features a fully-integrated texture mode so mapmakers can walk through their blank levels, painting textures on surfaces at will, and a straightforward point-and-click lightsource tool. Also included will be a Physics Editor and Shape and Sound Installers which allow users to customize the very nature of the Marathon world to their taste.
Third, the Marathon 2 : Durandal Strategy Guide. Written by Tuncer Deniz, editor of Inside Mac Games magazine and noted Marathon authority, the Strategy Guide gives the player not only instructions for completing Marathon 2: Durandal, but affords a glimpse into the way that Bungie's level designers produce outstanding levels. Revealing floorplans, secret rooms, items and traps, the Strategy Guide is an invaluable resource for understanding Marathon 2.

The Palace software provided on this disc is the shareware version of The Palace. You may use it freely to visit Ultra Game Players or any one of the hundreds of other Palace sites on the Net as a guest. To become a Palace member, please read the documentation included with the software for how to register.
After running the installer, simply connect to your Internet Service Provider and double-click on the executable icon. Once launched select OPEN CONNECTION from the FILE menu in the menu bar.
In the HOSTNAME field of the resulting dialog box enter: www.gameplayers.com Leave the contents of all other fields as the defaults and click on the CONNECT button. You should then be connected via TCP/IP to the Ultra Game Players Palace.
You should find yourself in the Ultra Game Players Welcome Room. There are a variety of rooms in The Palace where different gaming topics are discussed. There are scheduled conferences with industry figures and the UGP editorial staff. Be sure to check Ultra Game Players Online frequently for the schedule of events.
